EDP Brasil is recognized as one of the most sustainable companies

The energy company is featured in the first edition of the Vigeo Eiris ranking

EDP Brasil, a company that operates in the areas of energy generation, distribution, commercialization and solutions, was recognized as one of the 70 most sustainable companies in emerging countries, according to the ranking established by Vigeo Eiris, the European reference agency performing evaluations of corporate responsibility.

The Group comprises 11 Brazilian companies, all of which are evaluated in approximately 330 indicators, covering the following areas: human rights, decent employment practices, environmental protection, corporate governance, business ethics and contributions to economic and social development in localities of operation.

In its first edition, which will be updated every six months, the Emerging Market 70 Ranking highlighted the best companies in terms of performance, from a total of 800 companies and 31 countries.

EDP Brasil commitment to sustainability and best practices in the corporate environment has been recognized through different awards. For over 10 years, it has been a signatory to the UN Global Compact and is included in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of the S‹o Paulo Stock Exchange (BM & FBovespa), as well as possessing the Ethical Seal granted by the Federal Controller Office (CGU).
