Distributors of EDP in Brazil are highlights in Abradee Awards 2017

Performance of the Concessionaires in São Paulo and Espírito Santo are among the best in the country

The EDP distributors in Brazil received nominations for the Abradee 2017 for being among the best energy concessionaires in the country. The awards reflect EDP mission to ensure the satisfaction of its customers through the provision of a service of maximum quality, efficiency and safety. This is an important recognition for the whole company and a stimulus for the continuous improvement of its services.

EDP S‹o Paulo, which serves 1.8 million customers in the municipalities of Vale do Para’ba, Alto Tiet and the Northern Coast of the state of S‹o Paulo won in the category Operational Management, for its excellence in compliance with criteria such as system reliability, quality of care, work safety, commitment to stakeholders, generation of added value and sustainable development. It was also recognized in the Quality of Management criterion.

EDP Esp’rito Santo, which serves 70 of the 78 cities in the state, with a total of 1.5 million customers, stood out among the best distributors of the Southeast region, in addition to the categories of Quality of Management and Performance Evolution, reinforcing its excellence in compliance with the service to the Esp’rito Santo.

Continuous Commitment to Quality

In order to guarantee the quality of its service, EDP invested last year more than R\$234 million in improvements in Esp’rito Santo and R\$246,4 million in the concession area in S‹o Paulo. The contributions in the states were 50% higher than in the previous year and were allocated to the areas of expansion, modernization, fight against losses, customer service and infrastructure.

Abradee 2017 Award

Awarded annually since 1999, the Abradee Awards is the most recognized award in the Brazilian electricity distribution sector. The recognition is granted by the Brazilian Distributors Association of Electricity (Abradee), which brings together active distribution companies operating in all regions of the country, responsible for serving 99.6% of the Brazilian energy market.

The methodology of the award takes into account data obtained through internal indicators of companies, management reports, and indicators of the Ethos Institute, in addition to the evaluation of the Institute of Economic Research Foundation (Fipe) and FNQ. The award also takes into account the Customer Satisfaction Survey, conducted by the Association together with Innovare Research.
