EDP is among the three best in the ANEEL Quality Award

Espírito Santo's energy distributor is in the Top 3 in the “biggest concessionaires growth 2019/2018” category

EDP, an electric energy distributor of Espírito Santo, was among the three best in the ANEEL Quality Award in the  largest concessionaires growth 2019/2018 category. The award indicates that the company was among the ones that most evolved in the degree of satisfaction of residential consumers among the concessionaires with more than 400 thousand customers. The award ceremony took place in Brasília, on Wednesday (12).

The survey was conducted face-to-face by the company Qualitest - Inteligência em Pesquisa, from July 22 to November 13, 2019 and evaluated the consumer's perception of quality and perceived value, of their trust in the supplier, fidelity and your complete satisfaction. 27,308 residential consumers were interviewed, from 596 municipalities served by the country's electricity distributors.

"Being among the top three in the country is a recognition for the work we continuously do in expanding the offer and improving the quality of service in Espírito Santo. These customer-focused initiatives were highlighted in this award, prepared with the participation of consumers. This brightens the achievement and gives us the certainty that we are on the right path", highlights João Brito Martins, EDP director in Espírito Santo.

In the last five years, about R$ 1.3 billion has been invested in Espírito Santo. Among the works carried out are the expansion and construction of two substations, in Afonso Cláudio and Santa Maria de Jetibá, as well as the construction and retrofitting of high voltage distribution lines, that wil add 75 MVA of installed power and 255 km of new lines and grids.

The State also implemented the first autonomous system for monitoring and analyzing electrical networks in the sector in the country. The operation consists of making state-of-the-art drones available for inspection of energy assets in the Company's Distribution and Transmission areas in Espírito Santo.

The award

Held by the National Agency of Electrical Energy (ANEEL), the award - previously called the Consumer Satisfaction Index (Iasc) - show the degree of consumer satisfaction and has been published annually by the Agency since 2000. ANEEL awards the best rated distributors, when the minimum score of 60 points is reached.

The objective is to foster continuous improvement in the quality of services provided by electricity distributors in the country. As of April 2017, based on the Tariff Regulation Procedures (PRORET), the annual variation of the award is included in the calculation of the Periodic Tariff Reviews of the electricity distribution service concessionaires.
