Sound Bullet is the big winner of the third edition of EDP Live Bands Brazil

Carioca band will have the opportunity to record an album with Sony Music and play in one of the biggest festivals in Europe

São Paulo, May 13, 2018 - The band Sound Bullet from Rio de Janeiro, is the great winner of the third edition of the EDP Live Bands Brasil musical contest. Chosen among the eight finalists, the winner, in addition to to recording an album with Sony Music, will perform in one of the largest music festivals in Europe, NOS Alive"18.

But the Carioca group was not the only winner. The jury granted the Bibiana Petek band, the "honorable mention". With this, the gaucho musicians will also have the opportunity to play at NOS Alive.

In the midst of about 1,500 enrolls from all Brazilian states, who, together, received 130,000 votes online, the winners attracted the attention of the public and the jury, composed of Paulo Campos Costa, of the EDP Group; Victor Silva, of Sony Music; Everything is New Álvaro Covões; and Ricardo Pereira, Portuguese actor. We evaluated aspects such as technique, performance and musical interpretation, originality, stage presence and interaction with the audience.

The grand finale, held last Saturday (12) at Bourbon Street in São Paulo, was marked by live performances of original songs of the eight finalists of the contest - Madame Lulu (Maranhão), Codinome Winchester and DKUKAS (Mato Grosso do Sul), Cabelera and Sound Bullet (Rio of January), Bibiana Petek (Rio Grande do Sul), Code of Conduct and Jamirulus (São Paulo), besides the band Gelpi, winner of the second edition of EDP Live Bands Brasil, in 2017.

According to Paulo Campos Costa, communication director of the EDP Group, "EDP Live Bands Brazil recognizes and values national music. Bringing the competition that was already happening in Portugal was a very successful enterprise. We are in the third edition and we have always been very impressed by the musical quality of the bands and the determination of the young participants ".

The competition is the result of a partnership between EDP, a company that acts in all segments of the electric sector in Brazil, Everything is New and Sony Music, with the institutional support of the Lounge Magazine. World success, the competition is held in Portugal since 2014, arriving this year to the fifth edition. In Spain, the competition happens for the first time.

First Place - Sound Bullet

An indie-rock dance with influences ranging from post-punk revival to math rock This is the mark of the Sound Bullet, a band from Rio that was born in 2009 brings these inspirations to a pulsating guitars sonority and a remarkable vocal. The project was started by singer and guitarist Guilherme Gonzalez, alongside a bassist Fred Mattos and a drummer Pedro Mosque. In 2015, Henrique Wuensch took over the electric guitar. In 2018, Rodrigo Tak-ming turned the band into a quintet.

To the musicians, "achievement is the realization of a dream, of a nine-year walk of much dedication. Receiving this recognition is priceless. Honorable Mention - Bibiana Petek

Bibiana took her first steps in violin and classical music in childhood. At the age of 20, he released his first self-titled album, "Dengo" with two concerts in London in 2014. In the same year, Bibiana was chosen nationally as one of the promising young Brazilian singers in the Deezer-ABMI Award for New Talents, in Rio de Janeiro. And in 2015, indicated by the album "" Dengo "" for the award Prêmio Açorianos de Música, of Porto Alegre City Hall, in the new artist category.
