Miguel Setas elected Sustainable Executive of the Year by EY

The CEO of EDP Brasil was recognized for his management and leadership in implementing good practices in the socio-environmental and corporate governance areas.

EDP Brasil CEO Miguel Setas was voted "Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Sustainable Executive category, an award bestowed by EY to recognize company leaders with a focus on good socio-environmental practices.

The choice was based on criteria such as entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic planning, global impact, innovation, personal integrity, and influence. The company, which is engaged in energy generation, trading, services and supply, was also awarded for its sustainable measures and the solidity of its financial results.

"EDP Brasil maintains an ongoing commitment to society, its investors, and sustainable practices in the country. Being acknowledged for this work is very gratifying and confirms that we are moving in the right direction," Miguel Setas points out.

Held by EY, the Entrepreneurs of the Year Award recognizes innovative and successful executives. The initiative singles out and awards the achievements of the main corporate leaders, highlighting the growth of their companies and the dynamism of their business, in order to foster an entrepreneurial culture in several countries and regions.

Reaffirming its socio-environmental commitment, EDP Brasil has also been awarded the highest recognition from the Sustainability Leaders Agenda 2020 (ALAS20), a program that acknowledges companies that stand out for their leading role in environmental, social, and corporate management areas.

In addition to being voted ALAS20 Company of the Year in Brazil - the most important category in the awards - EDP was also one the three most sustainable groups and one of the best ranking companies in the corporate governance category.

ALAS20 is a unique initiative in Latin America with local editions in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. The award, which assesses, qualifies and recognizes outstanding performance in public information dissemination and good practices pertaining to sustainability, governance and investor relations, is held by GovernArt, a consulting firm focused on sustainability and responsible investment.
