Meet the semifinalists of EDP Live Bands Brasil
The public can vote and choose the finalists from April 11th to 30th; The winning band will perform at the NOS Alive'16 festival in Europe
The 52 EDP Live Bands Brasil semifinalists have already been selected. 1321 independent bands signed up for the first Brazilian edition of the competition, which is a well-established event in Portugal. Out of these, only 52 bands were selected for the semifinals - 41 of which chosen by the jury and 11 by popular vote.
EDP Live Bands Brasil will now advance to the second stage, and considering the quality of the bands, this is will be a cutthroat competition. Brought to you in partnership with Everything is New, Sony Music Brasil, FNAC and Banco Caixa Geral, the purpose of the competition is to promote independent rock and pop-rock bands from across the country.
In addition to the partners, the event is also sponsored by the General Consulate of Portugal, Fundação Luso Brasileira, Heineken, and Lounge Magazine.

The EDP Live Bands Brasil second voting round will take place from April 11 to April 30. The semifinalist bands will be able to upload another video performance on the competition website. The audience can watch and like the contents on the official hotsite. Fans can vote for their favorite bands and push them to the big final, which will have 3 bands elected by online voting and 5 by the jury (comprised of EDP, Everything Is New, Sony, and FNAC representatives).
The grand finale will be held on June 4 in the Unibes Cultural auditorium in São Paulo, where the winner of the first edition of EDP Live Bands Brasil will be chosen. On that day, all bands will perform live and the jury will choose the act that will travel to Portugal and record an album for Sony Music Brasil. On the same date, all finalists will attend a career management workshop with jury members, where experts will share career management advice for the entertainment world. The final will be attended by the jury and actor Ricardo Pereira.
