Last days to sign up for the 2016 EDP University Challenge

Deadline to compete in the first semester ends on April 26; projects can be submitted until June 23

The first application round for the 7th EDP University Challenge is almost through. To enter this competition held by EDP Brasil - a company engaged in energy generation, trading, services, and supply - university students from all over Brazil must fill in the registration form on the company website until April 26. After this stage, students can submit their projects until June 23.

With the aim of encouraging students from across the country to put theoretical knowledge into corporate practice, university students will be challenged to submit marketing and communication campaigns under the theme "Electrical Safety - Life always comes first". The purpose of the initiative is to alert the population to electrical hazards and provide information on how to prevent such occurrences.

The EDP University Challenge is geared towards undergraduate and postgraduate students in Management, Strategy, Marketing, and Design. Candidates from other courses will also be accepted, provided that they evince sufficient knowledge in the areas pertinent to the award.

Competition structure

There are two registration deadlines for the EDP University Challenge award. In the first stage, scheduled for the first semester, applications will be accepted from March 30 to April 26 and final projects must be submitted by June 23. In the second round, applications will be open from August 8 to September 6 and projects must be submitted by November 22.

EDP University Challenge participants must organize themselves into groups of two to five members, and it is not necessary that they attend the same educational institution. Teacher monitoring is recommended, but not a prerequisite.

The 10 best projects, to be selected by a consultancy firm, will advance to the final stage. Projects will be evaluated based on several criteria, including creativity, innovation and sustainability.

The 2016 EDP University Challenge award ceremony will be announced in the first half of 2017. On the occasion, the best team and the respective advisor will be awarded R$16,000 and R$8000, respectively The second best team will receive R$8,000, and the advisor will receive R$4,000.
