Guarulhos will have a colored sky during 'speed of pipes' | EDP Brasil

Guarulhos, June 20th, 2018 - On June 21, between 9am and 11am, the heavens above the Arnaldo José Celeste Municipal Stadium will gather about 500 parrots customized by students from five schools of the Municipal Network of the Teaching of Guarulhos. The "Kite Flying" is a great celebration of the work developed by EDP in São Paulo, with the support of the EDP Institute, and by Evoluir - Transforming Education, to encourage students to prioritize safety in the game, so traditionally, there are several generations.

At the new edition of the event will have Evoluir educators, EDP representatives and the Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Leisure of Guarulhos, in addition to teachers and students of the schools, Professor Edson Nunes Malecka, Mário Quintana, Jorge Amado, Tom Jobim and Pastor Perácio Grilli, who come to develop activities of the "Playing with Kites" project from the beginning of 2018. Besides the flock, there will be a tribute to the educational institutions and a cultural performance under the command of the Circo Show trupe.

"Through the initiative, EDP combines two of the main concepts that surrounds their social and cultural investments: promoting the quality of education and safety awareness in the coexistence with the electricity networks, "said Luis Gouveia, director of the EDP Institute. We are very proud to support this project, as well as all the other 377 developed during the 10 years of existence of the IEDP "

At the program is based on values ranging from the symbolism of a free childhood, full of activities that encourage creativity until the application of all its playful character as an educational instrument of great power. To ensure the synergy of all pillars, the initiative organizes teacher trainings - which takes place in sessions controlled by educators of Evoluir, who use material created by the company itself - and direct actions with the students and community.

Activities such as lectures with EDP electricians and classes are promoted with Evoluir field educators every week, when interdisciplinary activities of the pedagogical plan are developed and created for the project. Pocket shows by Cia are also held.Trem Bão, which serve as a tool of engagement and multiplication of the concepts worked in the program, as well as reading and conversation sessions on the book Sofi,the Pipa Bailarina by Solange Silveira Garcia and illustrated by Edson Ikê, which are distributed to participants.

"Playing with Kites" is based on instances that guarantee effectiveness in diverse fields: the first one is the inspiration in authors-references on the educational area - Jean Piagget and Lev Vygotsky are the main sources, especially in terms of playing as a tool, indispensable for the first training of children. In another plan there is the National Curricular Parameters (NCPs), which constitute the main pedagogical document of Brazil.

** Top tips to safely fly kites: **

• At the use of cerol (mixture of glass powder and glue) is prohibited and may penalty for the person responsible. The cerol is a risk for motorcyclists and pedestrians and offers danger in contact with the network, when cutting the protective spinning layer, a short circuit may occur.

• Athrowing objects into the power grid to rescue the kite can cause serious accidents. The "cat spear" (stones attached to a line) or any other energy-carrying item should not be released over the network;

• Flying kites at places like slabs and walls should be avoided. The proximity to the power grid increases the risk of accidents;

• It is expressly prohibited to invade EDP substations to retrieve pipes. These places are energized and only authorized people may enter the stations;

• An accident caused by electric shock can leave sequels as burns and even cause death.
