EDP strengthens electric grid safety with campaign on social media and on-site channels
The brand's awareness campaign involves hashtags, posts and customer activation with banners and posters until the end of December
Raising awareness about the importance of adopting simple measures to ensure safety when handling electric energy: such is the goal of EDP - a company engaged in electricity generation, trading and distribution - for a new campaign that will promote electrical safety on several channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, bus tail ads, electricity bills, and murals in concessionaires" stores located in Espírito Santo and São Paulo, which cater to more than 3 million customers.
With the concept "When it comes to electricity, everyone must stay connected", components such as banners, posts, posters and videos created by the advertising agency Pepper will address the most common kinds of accidents: kite flying, building construction, TV antenna installation, agricultural equipment, tree pruning, power theft, etc.
The campaign will run until the end of December on social media platforms and on the EDP website. Throughout January and February 2016, the company occupational safety department will discuss these topics with local communities, companies, schools, hospitals, government organizations, and trade unions.
"EDP highest value is human life, and this electrical safety awareness campaign strengthens the company commitment to providing guidance and preventing accidents," said Michel Itkes, CEO of EDP Distribution Operations.
The initiative also invites customers to share safety tips on social media by using the hashtag #SegurançaEDP. To see the components of this campaign, go to:
