EDP São Paulo announces service plan and reinforces safety tips

Strengthening the technical teams and guidelines are part of the Distributor for the holiday

Mogi das Cruzes, February 07, 2018 - The Carnival, one of the most celebrated parties in the country, is about to begin. Thinking about the safety of the partygoers and with the objective of guaranteeing the Energy during the party days, EDP S‹o Paulo carries out Operation Carnival.

Focusing on the safety and the quality of the service provided, the company organizes a special service plan that includes preventive maintenance and, where necessary, wiring removal, in places of great concentration of the public, such as avenues and parades and blocks, when previously requested by the organization of the events.

In addition, there is a reinforcement in the volume of thr field technical teams during the holiday, as well as the strategic positioning of units to provide agility to the service in case of occurrences.

The actions for the Carnival are contemplated in the planning of the Summer Operation Of the Distributor, held annually for the rainy period .

To take advantage of the date safely, the Company gives important tips that help to prevent accidents, during the days of the party:

  • Do not use EDP posts to hang ornaments;

  • Do not make clandestine calls because they increase the risk of accidents with the network;

  • Do not install any decoration near the mains;

  • Never launch artifacts (streamers, confetti, among others), metallic or not, in the electrical network. These can be conductors of power or break cables and can cause serious injury;

  • In case of using electric trucks in public roads, observe if there is no crossing of power lines that might cause accidents and, if there is wiring in the course, notify the Distributor in advance, for removal work;

  • All power grid installations, such as transformers and cables, whether energized or not, constitute assets of the Distributor and only professionals authorized by the Company may handle them.
