EDP Brasil, a company operating in all segments of the electricity value chain, is the only Brazilian company ranked among the top three in the evaluation carried out by Vigeo Eiris, an international organization that assesses management and performance in the environmental, social and corporate governance areas.

In its latest edition, the "Best Emerging Market Performers Ranking" report listed the top 100 developing-market companies out of 850 organizations from 31 countries, operating in 37 sectors. The list evaluates companies in categories such as Environment, Human Rights, Human Resources, Community Engagement, Compliance, and Corporate Governance.

The list includes 11 other companies from several industries: Finance, Aviation, Retail, Cosmetics, Cellulose, Telephony, Energy, and Automation.

"The results of this report consolidate our position in the social and corporate governance areas, which in 2017 have earned EDP the award for best electricity company on Exame magazine Sustainability Guide and a listing on the B3 ISE index," says EDP Brasil CEO Miguel Setas.
