EDP promotes Rodeo of Electricians in Espírito Santo and in São Paulo
Security, efficiency and speed are the challenge among teams of technicians and electricians who work in the concessionaires of the states of Espírito Santo and São Paulo.
EDP, a company that operates in the areas of Generation, Marketing and Distribution of electricity, promotes another edition of EDP Rodeo* an event that certifies safety, planning, efficiency and speed in the execution of activities that are part of the routine of technicians and electricians.
On the days 12th and 19th of August, respectively, in Serra (ES) and Mogi das Cruzes (SP), the professionals, who are responsible for taking an essential service to millions of customers in the states of Espírito Santo (70 cities) and São Paulo (28 municipalities in the Alto Tietê, Vale do Paraíba and North Coast), will be undertake fun challenges, fulfilling tasks that will test attributes such as accuracy, concentration and expertise, but always without giving up the main requirement: safety.
"The concept of the Rodeo is to encourage the integration and exchange of experiences between members and teams of qualified and skilled professionals. The competition reinforces our commitment to employee safety and the quality of services provided", says Michel Itkes, vice president of EDP Distribution.
As in the day to day of work, in all competitions the competitors shall be fitted with safety belts, gloves, goggles, helmets and anti-flame uniforms, also known as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The Rodeo
During the opening of the event there is a procession of faith to Our Lady Aparecida, considered the patroness of the electricians. Next, the competition begins with 08 distinct tasks. In one of them, the professionals perform the activities blindfolded. The events, in both cities, will be attended by guests and judges, besides the competitors and their sponsors. The 2015 edition of EDP Rodeo also prepares technicians and electricians for the competitions of the next year, in which will occur the selection process for the great national challenge, promoted by the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors (Abradee).
EDP operates in the states of São Paulo (serving 28 municipalities and 1.73 million units in the areas of Alto Tietê, North Coast and Vale do Paraíba) and Espírito Santo (covering 1.43 million units in 70 municipalities, approximately 90% of the state).
