The company's Institutional Program recognizes projects of employees and presents the "Volunteer of the Year" award

The sixth edition of "Desafio do Bem", one of the actions of the EDP Volunteer Program, closes 2016 recognizing the projects of the Company collaborators that stood out the most during the year. Created to encourage volunteerism and train good-deed multipliers , the challenge was attended by 7 teams formed by employees, family members and partners, who carried out numerous activities with social entities in three Brazilian states where EDP is present.

According to the regulation, all projects were submitted to the evaluation of an external committee that selected the top three for the finals, in which they competed for cash prizes reversed in improvements to the institutions already attended by the teams. This year, "Energia Solid‡ria" (Tocantins), "Amigos do Bem" (Esp’rito Santo) and "Projetando Sorrisos" (Esp’rito Santo) were elected.

"Each year, the EDP Volunteer Program, as well as its actions, consolidates its work with the communities and contributes effectively to social entities by serving their needs and providing solutions previously not contemplated", says Luis Carlos Gouveia, director of the EDP Institute. "Added to this is the greater engagement from employees, in groups or individually, to the practice of promoting good to others", he adds.

Besides recognition of the teams, Leidiane Clem dos Santos, a collaborator of EDP distributor in Esp’rito Santo, was elected the "Volunteer of the Year". As a prize, she will visit one of the Group hydroelectric projects in Brazil and visit an NGO supported by the EDP Institute to exchange experiences and learning.
