EDP participates in the 10th National Week with Electric Power

Abradee initiative aims to reach around 120 million Brazilians

From this Monday (24) until the 30th, the 10th National Week of Securitywill be held with Electric Energy, idealized by the Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors (Abradee). The EDP, a company, that operates in the areas of generation, and commercialization of electricity, participates in the initiative, with the objective of alerting the population to the risks of accidents with the electrical grid.

This year the campaign aims to reach around 120 million with awareness actions of the distributors. Six main themes will be discussed based on the most common types of occurrence of accidents: construction and maintenance of buildings; theft of energy; installation of TV antenna; agricultural equipment; release of kites, and pruning of trees. According to Abradee, since 2001 an annual average of 910 electric grid accidents have been recorded.

During the Security Week, EDP, through its distributors of electric power in the states of São Paulo and Espírito Santo, will be reinforcing the themes for its clients. “More than a concept, security is a matter of attitude at EDP. We work in the continuous search improvements in the safety management system and we reinforce in all our customer relationship channels the importance of care with electricity, “said Michel Itkes, vice president of Distribution of EDP.

On the website, on the social networks and on the digital face-to-face assistance safety tips will be publicized. For your employees, the company will give you security tips on your intranet, on internal digital murals and in the newsletter, as well as reinforcing the routine meetings of the teams.
