EDP opens registration for electrician training class | EDP Brasil

EDP, an energy distributor in Espírito Santo, started accepting registrations for the EDP Electrician School this Monday, 13. Offering free professional training classes for anyone interested in working in the electricity industry, the initiative will be available at three schools, in Greater Vitória and Northern and Southern Espírito Santo.

At the course is being run in partnership with the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI).

At there are 420 hours of coursework including both practical and theoretical classes. In the classroom, students will learn about the Regulatory Standards that apply to electrical system operations using instruments, tools, procedures and methods to plan, deploy, assess and inspect networks and carry out correct and preventive maintenance, in line with technical and safety standards.

Classes in Greater Vitória are for residents living in Vitória, Serra, Vila Velha, Cariacica and Viana. Practical classes will take held at the EDP training center in Carapina, Serra.

Athose interested in registering for classes in Southern Espírito Santo must live in Cachoeiro Itapemirim, Marataízes, Piúma, Guarapari, Anchieta, Alegre or Guaçuí. Classes will be held in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim.

At the EDP Electrician School in Northern Espírito Santo will accept students from Aracruz, São Mateus, Linhares, Nova Venécia, Pinheiros, Fundão, Boa Esperança, Jaguare or Pedro Canário. In this case, classes will be held at theSENAI unit in São Mateus.

All students will be supervised by SENAI Instructors and take part in simulations, which will include procedures such as building and maintaining an electrical network in line with EDP’s quality and safety standards.

After training, course graduates will be ready to work as energy distribution network electricians, focusing on construction, measurement, maintenance, operation and inspection activities.

At the Electricians School was founded in 1987, when the Distributor began offering training and it is much more than a service to the community. The goal is to provide candidates with training and help them find jobs, either as future EDP employees or working for one of its service providers.

This training course hopes to attract candidates that reflect with EDP’s principles of “Ethics and achieving the best for everyone”, a relationship based on trust that will benefit everyone involved. Using our energy to take better care of others.

Selection

At the selection process for EDP’s Electrician School is divided into the following stages: an exam on Basic Electrics, a psychological assessment and a group dynamic.

EDP offers students financial assistance, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).
