EDP is once again recognized for Ethics and Transparency

According to the Ethisphere Institute, EDP ranks among the most ethical companies in the world

EDP global commitment to Transparency and high Corporate Governance standards yielded the Group ranking among the World Most Ethical Companiesª, a list prepared by the Ethisphere Institute, which has been honoring the most ethical companies in the world for the past 11 years.

With this award, the Institute recognizes the companies with higher corporate integrity standards and greater alignment between management practices and stated ethical commitments. Using a model of its own, the Ethisphere Institute assesses corporate management maturity and performance in the areas of ethics and compliance.

The award not only recognizes the adoption of good practices but attests to the benefits of the company measures focusing on employees, investors, customers and other stakeholders, leveraging integrity values and an ethical culture which permeate all day-to-day decisions. EDP is one of the 124 companies recognized in the 2017 edition and was also honored in 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012.

The Group good corporate governance practices, principles and ethical commitments were also highlighted in Brazil. EDP Brasil was recognized by Pr—-ƒtica, a program of the Ministry of Transparency, Supervision and the General Comptroller Office which assesses corporate integrity programs and measures aimed at the prevention, detection and interruption of fraud and corruption acts. The company, which is engaged in energy generation, trading, services and supply, has joined this initiative 6 years ago to showcase the excellence of its Corporate Governance practices.

195 companies of all sizes, from different sectors of the economy, have joined the 2016 edition. Together with 25 other companies, EDP was recognized as a Pro-Ethical Company.
