EDP Live Bands selects bands from 14 Brazilian states for Competition semi-final
Over 1,700 bands registered for the 4th edition of the competition: The public can vote at https://edplivebands.edp.com/votacoes and select the finalists
At the fourth edition of the EDP Live Bands nationwide competition has chosen 65 semi-finalists that will end with one independent band playing at the Nos Alive’ 19 festival and recording an album with Sony Music. A record number of bands enrolled this year, up 18% on the previous competition, with representatives from Acre, Amazonas, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, São Paulo and the Federal District into the next round of the competition.
At the general public has until April 09 to vote for their favorite band visiting https://edplivebands.edp.com/votacoes. The competition website is interactive and connected with Facebook. Original songs and videos by all participating bands are available on the website.
Eight bands will reach the final, three of them chosen by online vote and the remaining five chosen by the jury. The finalists will perform live on April 27, at Bourbon Street Music in São Paulo, where the overall winner will be announced by the jury.
EDP Live Bands Brazil is the result of a partnership between EDP, a company that operates across all segments of the electricity industry, event producer Everything is New and Sony Music, with institutional support from Lounge Magazine. A global success, the competition has already attracted over 4,200 bands since its inception in Portugal in 2014, where this year it celebrates its fifth edition. Spain will be holding its first edition of the competition this year.
