EDP Live Bands Brasil announces the finalist bands of the contest
Representatives from seven Brazilian states will compete for the opportunity to perform on one of the stages at the NOS Alive '16 European festival; The final takes place at an event open to the public on June 4th in São Paulo
After three months gaining people and juries" affection over the internet, it time for the EDP Live Bands Brasil finalists to show live why they deserve to take the prize in the first-time contest already being acclaimed in Portugal.
Performed in partnership with Everything is New, Sony Music Brasil, FNAC and Banco Caixa Geral, the competition aims to promote independent rock and pop-rock bands from all over the country.
Coming from the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Santa Catarina, Ceará and Maranhão, the bands were chosen to compete in the contest finals by online popular vote and by a jury composed of EDP representatives and partners:

The action also counts on the support of the General Consulate of Portugal, the Luso-Brazilian Foundation, Heineken and Lounge Magazine.
The prize
The winner of EDP Live Bands Brasil will record a CD and will perform at the NOS ALIVE"16 festival, one of the largest music events in Europe and held in Portugal.
The Final
On June 4th, at the Unibes Cultural auditorium in São Paulo, the winning band will be chosen. In the day schedule, a workshop will be held on career management with specialists giving valuable tips and management advice for the journey in the competitive artistic world.
And then all eight finalists will perform live before the public and the jury.
The EDP Live Bands Brasil is an event of the Ministry of Culture, Government of the State of São Paulo and Secretary of Culture, organized by EDP and Unibes Cultural. The competition rules are available on the website. For more information access:
