EDP, an electrical energy distributor from the Vale do Paraíba, announced a new advanced operating base in Santa Branca for electricians and vehicles providing local customer service. Construction work lasted four months and the Company invested R$ 400 thousand in the new base. Today’s (25) inauguration event was attended by EDP representatives and local officials.

At the advanced base will support the Distribution Service Center (CSD) based in São José dos Campos. The new base will streamline staff journeys to incidents in Santa Branca, and support customer services in the neighboring cities of Salesópolis, Guararema and Jacareí.

Following a number of technical studies, the base was built in a strategic location that will help reduce on-site team travel by over 2 thousand km a month. This will have a significant environmental impact, reducing vehicle CO2 emissions while speeding up and increasing the quality of local customer services. Company employees will also be safer because they will not have to travel long distances.

At the base will also improve efficiency and speed up preventive and scheduled maintenance because the site has more storage space for materials and large vehicles. “EDP strives for excellence in all operating areas and the base reflects this, bringing tangible improvements and increasing safety as part of our customer service efforts across the region”, said Marney Antunes, Managing Director at EDP.
