EDP honors students in the 8th edition of the EDP University competition Challenge

Students from colleges all over Brazil participated in the contest. The group winner is from Porto Alegre

São Paulo, XX of March of 2018 - EDP, company that acts in all segments of the country electrical chain, completed the eighth edition of the EDP University Challenge competition with 23% enrollment over last year. Of 216 registered projects of universities of the entire country, 15 were selected for the grand finale in São Paulo. The first place was with the students of UniRiter, from Porto Alegre, who developed the Application of Good with the objective of stimulating the customers using the EDP Online application.

At the winning group, composed by students Jonas Soares, Brenda Fernandes and Peter Vicente, received the R$ 16 thousand prize and the guiding teacher, Cristiano Klanovicz was contemplated with R$ 8 thousand. The proposed solution for them suggests EDP partnership with projects, NGOs and other socio-environmental entities already supported by the EDP Institute. The dynamic works as follows: after downloading or updating the EDP Online application, the user can choose to contribute with one of the actions presented by the interface, leading to the employees participation programs selected by the client.

"The main benefit of the University Challenge is to offer students real experience on the market. In addition to the day-by-day activities, it is important to have this experience outside the University", comments Jonas Soares, one of the winning students.

Second, there were students from the University of Vila Velha, in Espírito Santo, who suggested improvements in customer service in the customer service agencies. The students Brunella Saib Checker Rizo, Dawan Esteves Maciel, Josimar do Nascimento Barreto and Lorrayne de Jesus Souza were awarded with R $ 8 thousand and the guiding teacher Tânia Maria Bassetti de Abreu with R $ 4 thousand.

At the students Rafael Brigo Ferreira de Oliveira and Rodrigo Gonçalves Yanoguthi of FATEC Santos, came in third place. The group proposed transforming the Company customer into a "client-agent", where users can report problems such as faulty equipment and clandestine, sending photo of the place and sharing its location via GPS. Students were guided by Professor Maria Sueli Medeiros Nanni, and took home R $ 4 thousand and R \$2 thousand, respectively.
