EDP Group announces changes in the company's management structure in Brazil

The company has two new vice presidents for the Finance and Distribution departments

EDP, a company engaged in energy trading, distribution and production, has announced the appointment of Henrique Manuel Marques Faria Lima Freire and Michel Nunes Itkes to the positions of Vice Chief Executive Officer of Finance and Vice Chief Executive Officer of Distribution Operations respectively.

Lima Freire is a Portuguese national and has extensive experience in financial matters. He is a Corporate Finance expert specializing in financial planning, budgeting, auditing, financial structuring and debt restructuring. He is also a Mergers and Acquisitions expert with extensive experience in company assessment, due diligence, leveraged acquisitions, corporate and tax structuring, private equity operations and contract negotiation. From 1997 to 2005 he worked for Chemical Finance Bank, Arthur Andersen (now Deloitte), Change Partners Corporate Finance. He has worked for KPMG over the last 15 years.

With a professional career of more than 20 years in the Brazilian electricity sector, Michel Itkes is the Managing Director of EDP Bandeirante (Commercial, Technical and Environmental). Previously he held the positions of Regulation Director, Energy Planning Director, and Commercial Distribution Director in the same company. Michel joined the company 16 years ago as Energy Procurement Manager for EDP Bandeirante.
