EDP is the first company in the electric sector to join the Pact for Sport

São Paulo, May 30, 2018 - EDP is the first company in the Brazilian electric sector to join the Pact for Sports, a voluntary agreement between sports sponsoring companies that defines rules and mechanisms in relationships between investors and entities (confederations, federations and clubs). Upon accession, the Group reinforces its commitment to transparent measures aimed at the development of national sport.



At the objective is to strengthen the Company self-regulatory tools that define good practices in governance and integrity for the execution of sponsorships made to the assisted entities. "The adhesion to the Pact demonstrates EDP commitment to stimulate Brazilian sport, ensuring that the investment is used correctly and safely," says João Paulo Mateus, director of Internal Audit and Compliance of the Company.



At the incentive to the sport is one of the pillars of the actions of social responsibility of EDP. Through its Institute, whose mission is to promote the social development of the communities where the Company operates, EDP already supports several projects and entities that use sport as a tool for social inclusion.
