EDP donates LED lamps as celebration for the environment month

Until june 28th, any customer that choses to register to receive the electricity bill by e-mail, in one of the twelve company agencies available, will receive a complimentary LED lamp

During the month of June, EDP, energy distributor of the Alto Tietê, Vale do Paraíba and North Coast of São Paulo regions, carried out an array of different actions promoting the celebrations of the World Environment Day (WED).



Until the 28th (Friday), clients present at one of twelve agencies within the concession area that chose to register their electricity bill by e-mail, eliminating the need to use paper, will receive a courtesy LED lamp, which is more economic, efficient and sustainable.



Agencies participating in this initiative are those in: São José dos Campos, Guarulhos (Center region and Pimentas), Mogi das Cruzes, Taubaté, Itaquaquecetuba, Jacareí, Guaratinguetá, Suzano, Lorena, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Caçapava.



This action congregates with others carried out by the Company during the month that celebrates the World Environment Day, on the 5th of June. Its primary objective is to stimulate conscientious consumer practice on a day to day basis, reinforcing everyone’s responsibility towards environmental preservation. This initiative is in line with the commitment set forth by EDP towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), an agenda drawn out by the UN to make our planet more balanced and inclusive until 2030.   



Nother EDP actions



O n World Environment Day, clients that go through customer service at an agency within the concession area will receive a complimentary LED flashlight key ring. During the National Environment Week guidance flyers and LED lamps were also distributed. More than 2.500 items were given to the clients.



During the Festa do Divino (Divine Party) in Mogi das Cruzes, EDP was present with the Conscientious Consumer Blitz, with promoters and EDP’s mascot interacting by delivering handouts and educational material, which reinforced guidance and tips to efficient and safe use of energy.



At the Company incentives fully converting the electricity bill to its e-mail format. Currently over 350 thousand clients in all 28 counties handled by EDP in the state of São Paulo receive their bills by their virtual addresses. As a result, an economy of paper equivalent to 420 trees a year is rendered. In converting to the virtual bill, not only does the client contribute to the environment by reducing the use of paper, but also receives his/her bill at an earlier date, which is more practical and convenient.



Ato register the bill by e-mail is straightforward and can be done at any given time on EDP Online (www.edponline.com.br), using the companies APP, available on all platforms of smartphones and tablets, accessing the company’s customer service channels by telephone or in person at one of the distributor’s agencies.
