EDP Brasil, a company operating in all segments of the electricity sector, was selected by the Best Innovator Awards as one of the 20 most innovative companies in Brazil. The list was compiled by A.T. KEARNEY, which evaluates companies according to their product, service or business model innovation strategies.

An innovation leader in the electricity sector, EDP Brasil was the creator of the first Process Automation and Smart Grid projects in the Brazilian market. It has also implemented the first Smart Grid laboratory in Latin America and several startup acceleration programs, such as EDP Starter and Open Innovation.

This year, EDP was also voted by Valor Inova‹o Brasil as one of the five most innovative companies in the electricity sector.

Held by consulting firm A.T. KEARNEY, the Best Innovator Award spans more than 15 countries and considers 5 innovation dimensions with different weightings: strategy (22%), processes (24%), organization and culture (21%), structure and support (21%), and innovation results (12%). For the 2017 edition in Brazil, the Best Innovator Award was a partnership between A.T. Kearney and Superbid, with the assistance of the USP Polytechnic School.
