EDP Brasil listed on the B3 Corporate Sustainability Index for the 12th consecutive year

For the 12th year in a row, EDP Brasil, a company operating in all segments of the electricity value chain, is one of the 30 companies listed on the B3 (formerly BM&FBovespa) Business Sustainability Index (ISE), which will run from January 8, 2018, to January 4, 2019.

The portfolio selects only those companies with a high level of commitment to sustainable development, shared value generation, corporate governance and product nature, as well as outstanding performance in the economic, financial, social, environmental and climate change dimensions.

According to B3, the new portfolio market cap is worth R$1.28 trillion, 41.47% of the overall value of the companies listed on the exchange. The institution also shows that 92% of these companies have conducted studies on their vulnerabilities to climate change, and that 91% incorporate the risks and opportunities associated with climate issues in their strategic plans.

Proving EDP commitment to socio-environmental responsibility, the company was also listed, for the 10th consecutive year, on the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index (DJSI World). In 2017 the Company obtained a score of 92 points, 3 more than in 2016 and 42 above industry average. The DJSI is a selective and stringent index evaluating the sustainability performance of thousands of companies and their adaptation to market trends.
