EDP Brasil invests R$21 million in the appreciation of Portuguese language

Company announces partnership with Flip 2017

With the commitment to treasure Lusophony, EDP Brasil, a company operating in the energy market, has announced an investment of about R$21 million in the appreciation of Portuguese language, thereby strengthening cultural ties between Portugal and Brazil while also fostering access to social participation.

The Company will be one of the sponsors for the 2017 edition of FLIP - Paraty International Literary Festival, which honors important names in Portuguese Language Literature, and will also sponsor Experimenta Portugal "17, to be held in June with Portuguese musicians and exhibitions. The company has also announced that it will be the Master sponsor of the refurbishment works at the Portuguese Language Museum in S‹o Paulo, in which it will invest R$20 million in 3 years.

Commenting on these activities, EDP Brasil CEO Miguel Setas said: "Our partnership with FLIP 2017 strengthens our investment in the appreciation of Portuguese language, the fifth most spoken language in the world and the most widely used in the southern hemisphere.
