EDP Brasil CEO is among the best three in the Latin American electricity sector

EDP Brasil CEO Miguel Setas was elected one of the three best CEOs in the Latin American electricity sector by Institutional Investor magazine, which lists the best corporate performances in the investor relations area.

"In 2015 we celebrated the 10th anniversary since our IPO, a milestone for us, and we see this ranking as an award that reflects the ongoing effort of the EDP Brasil Investor Relations team, as well as of all other company departments, which work together to provide our customers and investors with an outstanding service," Setas points out.

Engaged in energy generation, trading, services and supply, the company was highlighted in the 2016 edition of the voting. The Group is listed in six of the seven categories that make up the ranking, which was voted by 580 investors and 354 market experts in 16 sectors.

Marilia Nogueira, the company Executive Manager for Investor Relations, was also awarded as one of the best managers in the area. The company IR team was voted the second most competent, together with the Investor Relations channel (website). Finally, the Group Investor Day was voted as one of the best organized events in the sector.

In 2015 EDP celebrated 20 years of operations in Brazil and 10 years since the IPO at BM&FBovespa, with solid results for the company shareholders. For the first time in its history, EDP has reached an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) higher than R$3 billion and profits above R$1 billion. The Group share price increased by more than 24% in the twelve months up to September.
