Entrepreneurial ideas from the South, Southeast, Northeast and Central West Regions of the Country move on to the business model stage

Starting this Monday (September 21), the EDP Innovation Award enters the business model stage with the ten most innovative ideas of the 2015 edition. These projects come from the states of Ceará, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina, besides the Federal District, and have been selected due to their development potential and alignment with the company strategy.

Created by EDP, a company engaged in electricity generation, trading and distribution, the purpose of the award is to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

"The first selection stage reflects the evolution and high standards of these entrepreneurial proposals, with creative and sustainable solutions that aim at improving the quality of life of the population and will have direct and indirect impact on the socioeconomic development of the localities where they will be applied", says EDP president Miguel Setas.

Since 2010, the EDP Innovation Award has been acknowledging entrepreneurial ideas with potential for business development focusing on smart grids, electric mobility, energy efficiency, and renewable energies.
