EDP announces new director for distribution area in São Paulo

The executive is a member of the board of one of the country's largest energy groups

EDP, a company engaged in electricity generation, trading and distribution, has announced the appointment of Marney Tadeu Antunes as director of the concessionaire in São Paulo.

Leading the company that brings energy to the regions of Alto do Tietê, Vale do Paraíba and the North Coast, Marney Antunes will accumulate the duties of Technical director, Environmental director, and Commercial director.

With extensive experience in the energy industry, Marney Antunes started his career 30 years ago. He has worked for companies such as Energética de São Paulo (CESP), Elektro, CPFL Energia, holding strategic and leadership positions.

In 2004 the distribution company, which serves about 2 million consumer units in 28 municipalities across São Paulo, supplied 15,451 GWh to the concession area. According to the Brazilian Association of Electric Power Distributors (ABRADEE), EDP is the sixth largest private group in Brazil in terms of distributed energy volume.
