Recharge technology
Developed and manufactured in Brazil especially to meet the needs of power, connectivity, charging speed and security for electric vehicles, the new generation of WEG Recharging Stations has a modern design and is intelligent, allowing the connection to the Internet and management platforms for charging or apportioning the consumption of each user. In addition, it allows access control via proximity cards (RFID tags) or cell phone applications.
WEMOB charging stations will be offered to consumers in three different models: Wall, designed for homes and condominiums; Parking, designed especially for shared use in public and private parking lots; and Station, aimed at quick recharge stations. The lines are available for slow, semi-fast and fast recharging, with powers from 7.4 to 150 kW.
“This partnership is part of WEG’s strategy to offer efficient, sustainable and intelligent solutions for the electric mobility segment. It also reiterates Renault's confidence in WEG’s products and services”, emphasizes Manfred Peter Johann, Managing Director of WEG Automação.
WEG and Renault do Brasil are also together in an electric mobility project in Fernando de Noronha islands, in the state of Pernambuco. The companies, in partnership with the Administration of Fernando de Noronha and Polo, inaugurated six garages with solar generation (Carport) to recharge the lithium-ion batteries of 28 electric vehicles that already circulate in the archipelago.
New Zoe
Zoe was a pioneering product in Europe and became the best-selling compact electric car in the European market. Now, in the third generation, the new Zoe takes on a new dimension in terms of versatility, quality and technologies. The model starts to be sold in Brazil in two finish versions: Zen (R$ 204,990) and Intense (R$ 219,990). Technically, the model offers even more freedom. The 52 kWh battery makes its autonomy reach up to 385 kilometers, with even more recharge options, thanks to the introduction of the direct current (DC) charging system. It also provides even more driving pleasure, thanks to the more efficient engine with 100 kW power and 24.5 kgfm torque, allowing the driver to enjoy the instant and smooth acceleration, good for highways.
EDP and electric mobility
EDP is globally committed to electrify 100% of its fleet by 2030, as well as to develop new offers and market solutions to promote the transformation of the energy matrix. The company is in charge of the Plug & Go project, the largest ultra-fast electric vehicle charging network in South America. The initiative will install 30 ultra-fast charging stations, covering the entire state of São Paulo, by the end of 2022. The company participates in other important actions such as a pilot mobility project in partnership with VIX Logística, a company of the Águia Branca Group, one of the largest transportation and logistics business conglomerates in the country, aiming to develop a recharge system for electric bus fleets in Espírito Santo.
On another venture, Embraer and EDP entered into a partnership for the research of the electric plane. Through the EDP Smart division, a financial contribution was made for the acquisition of the battery of the airplane demonstrating 100% electric propulsion technology, which uses an EMB-203 Ipanema as a testing platform. The prototype, which is already under development, has its first flight scheduled for 2021. The investment is part of the cooperation agreement that the two companies signed to advance knowledge of energy storage technologies and recharging batteries for aviation - one of the main challenges of the project.
