EDP is among the most sustainable companies in the country
The company stood out in the Ethics and Transparency category in the 2016 of the Guia Exame de Sustentabilidade
EDP, a company that operates in the areas of energy generation, distribution, commercialization and solutions, makes an appearance for the seventh year in Guia Exame de Sustentabilidade, one of the main tools for evaluating sustainable companies in Brazil. The company, which was above the average for the electric sector for Ethics and Transparency indicators, was highlighted in the publication.
"In its trajectory, EDP has always sought to incorporate aspects related to sustainability in its management model, and this recognition reinforces that we are moving in the right direction, " says the company CEO, Miguel Setas.
The recognition took into account EDP initiatives to bring more efficiency and innovation to customers of its distributors in S‹o Paulo and Esp’rito Santo, as well as the initiatives carried out in the communities around their business units. The company also was noted for its commitment made to the United Nations (UN) to reduce the energy consumption of its consumers in Brazil by 100 gigawatts-hour (GWh) by 2020 through the expansion of innovative and sustainable products and services.
Present in Brazil for more than 20 years, EDP has also been listed in the Guia EXAME de Sustentabilidade in the years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
