EDP adopts app to encourage carpooling and solidarity lifts
With a customized interface, the company is the first to use Mobicity's mobile version
Affinity. This is the word that defines the concept of the Mobicity app, which EDP - a company engaged in electricity generation, trading and distribution - will be providing to its employees from the second week of October onwards.
Created in partnership with the startup Mobicity (initially Djengo Brasil), the EDP Carpooling Program has the advantage of being available for mobile devices (tablets and smartphones) and of including features that foster interaction between employees and optimize carpooling for informal and corporate trips.
"The app launch is another EDP initiative to raise environmental awareness among our employees. Besides the olidarity lift", our intention is to reduce the emission of air pollutants and encourage sustainable commuting practices in people daily trips," says Sônia Cardoso, EDP Brasil Sustainability Executive Manager.
With a simple and intuitive platform, all users can enter information such as location, rotation day, public commuting options used on a daily basis, and even activities and hobbies. Is is therefore possible to share a cab or even have a companion for your bus or train trips. This is a tool that will help professionals share their experiences by fostering contact and dialogue during the ride. And it will also help us disseminate the goals of our awareness program and environmental campaigns," the executive points out.
Compatible with the most popular operating systems worldwide (iOS, Android and, soon, Windows Phone), EDP Mobicity will have capacity for up to 1,500 accounts. Employees of the company headquarters in São Paulo will be the first to use the app.
