Bands from 14 Brazilian states and the Federal District reach the semifinal of EDP Live Bands Brazil

São Paulo, April 5, 2018 - The third edition of EDP Live Bands Brazil has selected its 52 semifinalists. The competition will take an independent rock or pop rock band to perform at NOS Alive Festival18 in Europe.The winner will also record an albumfor Sony Music.There are 14 Brazilian states represented at this stage: Brasília,Bahia,Ceará,Espírito Santo,Maranhão,Mato Grosso do Sul,Minas Gerais,Pará,Paraná,Rio de January,Rio Grande do Norte,Rio Grande do Sul,Rondônia,Santa Catarina and São Paulo,as well as the Federal District. /p>

Ato continue voting on their favorite bands, Internet users can visit https://edplivebandsbrasil.edp.com/votacoes and choose the finalists until April 20.

Eight bands will progress to the big final, of which three will be chosen by online voting and five by the competition committee. The finalists will be announced on April 23 and perform live on May 12 before the competition jury, who will then choose the winning band.

According to Rumenick Capucho, lead singer of the band Machimbo, which reached last year big final, "EDP Live Bands is an enriching experience for the professional growth of each participant. We attended a workshop on the music market in São Paulo, which was extremely important for our musical training."

EDP Live Bands Brazil is a partnership between EDP, a company operating in all segments of the Brazilian electricity sector, Everything is New, and Sony Music. The competition also has the institutional support of Lounge Magazine. A worldwide success, the competition has been held in Portugal since 2014, reaching its fifth edition in 2018. The Spanish edition will be held for the first time this year.
