Companies stand out for electricity supply quality in the states of São Paulo and Espírito Santo

EDP, a company engaged in electricity generation, trading and distribution across the country, has just received the ISO 9001 certification following an assessment of power supply continuity indicators, both collectively (DEC and FEC) and individually (DIC, FIC, DMIC and DICRI - listed in the customer bill), which comprised distribution companies operating in São Paulo and Espírito Santo.

The certification is the result of an external audit conducted in late April by Bureau Veritas Certification. According to Michel Itkes, Vice Chief Executive Officer of Distribution Operations, the ISO 9001 certification reflects EDP commitment to customers and the constant improvement of the services provided by the company. "This is the recognition for the high standards of our service and operational excellence. And we should also highlight the efficient synergy between the several areas within our company, such as Operations and Personnel Management," the executive added.

The Quality Management System certification leverages the company search for excellence, process standardization, and the fostering of an improvement culture, besides enabling EDP to meet the National Electricity Agency regulatory requirements.

The sixth largest private group in Brazil in terms of distributed power volume, according to the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors (Abradee), EDP operates in 28 municipalities in the regions of Alto Tietê, Litoral Norte and Vale do Paraíba, and in 70 cities in the State of Espírito Santo.
