The study was carried out by the Transparency Observatory, an initiative of the advisory board of the Global Report Initiative (GRI)

EDP, a company that operates in all segments of the electricity sector, is among the most transparent companies in disclosing information on sustainability. The selection came from a study produced by the Transparency Observatory, an initiative of the advisory board in Brazil of the Global Report Initiative (GRI), an institution dedicated to the development of sustainability reporting standards.

The survey was based on the evaluation of annual, integrated and sustainability reports of more than 70 companies based on criteria such as clarity and reliability. The choice took into account criteria such as disclosure of the sustainability report at an opportune time, evaluation by an independent institution and consistency of information in relation to what is disclosed in press releases or in the Reference Form sent to the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). All criteria used in the analysis were linked to the GRI principles.

“The experience of years presenting sustainability reports has brought us this recognition, but we know that it is necessary to go further. Therefore, we constantly talk about the need to report our policies and initiatives more and more transparently and frequently. We communicate our actions based on the ESG pillars, which are constantly being improved in order to positively impact the Company's organizational culture, in addition to enhancing our relationship with society and shareholders”, explains Dominic Schmal, Sustainability Director at EDP in Brazil.

Extending transparency

In 2021, EDP launched the “Performance ESG” page on its Investor Relations website. The intention of the platform, exclusively dedicated to content on the Company's actions in the environmental, social and governance areas, is to bring EDP closer to its stakeholders and investors, as well as providing greater transparency about the implemented initiatives, in line with the strategic plan of the Group to be 100% green by 2030.

The new page has the ESG Question Bank, a search tool, in the form of questions and answers, which allows you to quickly find the main information on EDP's performance in the field of ESG, available in the organization's quarterly and annual reports.

Also this year, the Company began publishing the ESG Quarterly Report, entirely dedicated to measuring performance using metrics relevant to the investor community. The disclosure takes place simultaneously with the publication of the company's quarterly results.
