EDP opens vacancies for the Young Apprentice Program in Mogi das Cruzes
People aged between 18 and 23, interested in the area of electricity distribution, can participate in the Program; Applications must be made by June 8th.
EDP, the electricity distributor of Alto Tietê, opens enrollment for the Young Apprentice Program. For 12 months, the apprentices participate in a training and qualification course for electricians focused on operating in the aerial energy distribution network. In line with the guidelines of its Inclusion and Diversity Program, the company will allocate 50% of the vacancies to black people, valuing the intersectionalities of gender, race, disability and LGBTQIAP+ in all positions. All steps, including interviews and dynamics, will be carried out online, in order to preserve candidates’ health. The project is the result of a partnership between the Company and the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI), through the Industrial Learning Program, which trains young people in the course of Electrician for Electricity Distribution Networks.
With a total workload of 800 hours, 20 hours a week, the program lasts about twelve months. Students will be hired under the CLT (Brazilian Labor Law) regime for a fixed period, will receive salary and benefits during the course period, will earn a certificate endorsed by SENAI and will remain in the EDP talent database, being able to participate in future selection processes for effective vacancies.
The course will have online and in-person classes respecting health protocols in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is for participants to learn about the procedures and techniques necessary for planning, executing, evaluating and inspecting networks, as well as about preventive and corrective maintenance, within technical and safety standards.
Applications
The Young Apprentice Program will be held at Senai's headquarters in Mogi das Cruzes, starting in July. There are 18 seats available. The requirements for taking the qualification are as follows:
- Education: High school - Complete
- Preferably reside in Mogi das Cruzes, Poá or neighboring cities
- Be born between 25/Jun/1998 and 28/Jul/2003;
- Availability of full-time hours

It is noteworthy that EDP offers students a salary, meal voucher, transportation voucher and medical insurance, in addition to teaching materials, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and certification with the seal of SENAI.
