EDP is awarded the Women on Board seal
EDP, a company that operates in the entire chain of the electricity industry, has just been certified with the Women on Board seal, an initiative that has the support of UN Women to encourage the increase of gender equity in senior leadership. In February, the Company's Board, which already had the membership of Juliana Rozenbaum, included the participation of Vera Pinto Pereira and Ana Paula Marques, with a 33% share of female participation, three times above the national average. In addition to the new board members, EDP announced in February its first vice president, Fernanda Pires, for the newly created People and ESG chair.
“It is with great satisfaction that EDP is awarded the recognition from Women on Board. We are committed to expanding female representation at different levels of the Company through concrete actions, in order to move increasingly forward in this agenda”, states João Marques da Cruz, CEO of EDP in Brazil.
In 2020, the Company took an important step in approving its Inclusion and Diversity strategy for 2022. Among the highlights, is the goal of having 20% of women in leadership and 50% of new hires from underrepresented groups in the general staff, valuing, above all, the intersectionality of the different pillars of the Company's diversity program.
