Miguel Setas and EDP receive awards as CEO and Company that Best Communicate with Journalists

10th edition of the award was held in a virtual ceremony. EDP won in the Electricity category

In a year marked by challenges and overcoming challenges, where the field of communication was highly affected by social detachment and, to a large extent, by work in the home office, EDP president Miguel Setas, and EDP, a company that operates in all segments of the Brazilian electricity sector, were honored on the night of the 2nd in the Companies that Best Communicate with Journalists award, promoted by the Negócios da Comunicação platform and by the Centro de Estudos da Comunicação (Cecom).

After voting by press professionals across the country, through a survey audited by BDO Brazil, Miguel Setas was ranked among the 10 CEOs that Best Communicate with Journalists and EDP's press office won the Companies that Best Communicate with Journalists in the Electricity category. During the ceremony, Setas highlighted the important role of journalists. “A free, active and quality press is the fundamental pillar for a strong democracy, and this is the backdrop for a robust business environment. The new decade will be marked by an agenda clearly centered on ESG, with a more responsible, open, transparent and innovative attitude by companies ”, considered the president of EDP.

The award took place during an event that brought together the 3rd Forum of Regional and Community Journalism; the 3rd Specialized Journalism Forum; the 6th Specialists Award; and the 10th Survey of Companies that Best Communicate with Journalists. In addition to the professionals honored, the program included a team of speakers presenting reflections on the trends that are shaping society's relations with the press and the future of the communication market.
