With an investment of approximately R$ 184 thousand, the 90 photovoltaic modules were delivered in early September

EDP, an electric energy distributor in Espírito Santo, announces the projects included in the Public Call for Energy Efficiency, to encourage the conservation and rational use of electricity. The implementation of a photovoltaic solar generation system in the Asylum of the Elderly in Vitória was approved in the Public Call of the Concessionaire, guaranteeing the installation of 90 modules with the power of 330 Wp each, totaling 29.7 kWp.

With an investment of approximately R$ 184 thousand, it is estimated that the installed solar panels represent savings of 42.82 MWh/year for the asylum, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 18 houses during one year (considering a house with the consumption of 200kWh/month).

“We are committed to offering more and more sustainable ways in the production of electric energy and to expand the reach of renewable sources, such as solar. We are happy to deliver the work to the Asylum for the Elderly in Vitória, directly contributing to the financial savings of the house and the rational use of energy”, comments Alexandre Rodello, manager of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Consumption at EDP.

EDP's Public Call benefits actions by individuals and companies that aim to improve or replace installations in the network, equipment and systems for controlling electricity use, in order to reduce energy consumption in homes, businesses, industries, public buildings and private individuals, public hospitals and charities, public lighting, among others.

In the previous editions, projects with the modernization of the lighting, air conditioning and photovoltaic generation systems benefited from the Public Call, which involved the consumer units of the Jaime Santos Neves Hospital, Arcelor Mittal, located in the municipality of Serra, administrative headquarters of the State Federal Police and Hospital Evangélico de Vila Velha, both in Vila Velha, six buildings of the State Prosecutor's Office located in cities in the concession area, in addition to the Solidary Efficiency project, which carried out in 2019, the replacement of 60 thousand lamps of higher consumption by LED residential customers, through Led Truck, in the municipalities of Castelo, Apiacá, Mimoso do Sul and Cachoeiro de Itapemirim.
