Notice will receive registrations until September 11 and will include actions aimed at the elderly, childhood, adolescence, health and sport. New edition will include initiatives that address the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects

Entities with social projects aimed at areas such as elderly, health, childhood and adolescence and sport and interested in receiving incentives for their activities can apply until September 11 in the EDP Institute's 2021 notice, organization that coordinates the social environmental actions of EDP and EDP Renewables. In all, the institution will provide more than R$ 7 million in investments to social organizations in seven Brazilian states. The novelty of this edition is that the selection will include initiatives that have a look at the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects.

Registration must be made exclusively through the Bússola Social [Social Compass] platform, available on the EDP Institute website. To participate in the selection, organizations must complete the registration on the platform. The projects presented must have a minimum duration of six months and must start in 2021.

The selection will benefit actions in municipalities in the concession area of energy distribution companies (Espírito Santo and São Paulo), in areas close to the generation projects (Amapá, Ceará, Espírito Santo and Tocantins) and the EDP Renewables wind farm in Tramandaí (LOL). The complete list of locations is available in the public notice regulations.

“We are experiencing a moment when the strength of social organizations has proven itself every day. Our announcement reinforces the importance of investing in civil society initiatives to overcome the effects and impacts of Covid-19”, says Dominic Schmal, sustainability manager at EDP Brasil.
