EDP maintains certification of excellence in environmental management and work safety practices in Espírito Santo

Since 2012, the Concessionaire has ensured compliance with these standards

EDP, electricity distributor in Espírito Santo, maintained its ISO 14001 certification, of the Environmental Management System (SGA), attesting that its facilities are adequate to the most rigorous environmental standards, and OHSAS 18001 from occupational health and safety management in nine substations in the state.

ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 are international standards that verify requirements related to themes, certifying the quality of the company's management. EDP has been ensuring compliance with the rules since 2012.

“The maintenance of certifications starts from a rigorous monitoring of legal requirements, to the implementation and review of relevant procedures in the environment area, pertinent to the Environmental Management System”, points out Reinilson Cesário, EDP's executive manager.

The audit was completed in July and, in order to ensure the safety of all, meetings with employees involved with the scope took place remotely (online) and as a result, no deviations were detected in the audited processes, therefore, the Company management is in compliance with the requirements of the standards.

Over the past five years, EDP in Espírito Santo has invested more than R$ 1.3 billion in the expansion and modernization of the electricity network, combating losses, infrastructure and customer service.
