The iniciative will help public schools in Espírito Santo to deal with the effects of the pandemic on education

Faced with the current pandemic situation of the covid-19 and in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus, thousands of schools in Brazil were forced to close their face-to-face classes indefinitely. For these reasons, a greater concern to ensure continuity of learning and engagement by students during this period, especially in public schools, is necessary.

It is with this motto that EDP, through the EDP Institute, launches for the 5th consecutive year the Entrepreneurial Education project, which delivers online tools for schools and teachers to innovate their teaching methods and guarantee a more engaged and meaningful learning to their students, focused on the development of socio-emotional skills, in addition to technical learning.

Through the program, schools use DreamShaper, an online educational platform that assists students in developing projects aimed at entrepreneurship.  Beginning in 2016, EDP allowed the program to reach 120 schools, more than 500 teachers and 15,000 students, generating more than 4000 projects developed by the students.

In this edition, the program will start on July 7 and 8 in Espírito Santo, with remote training and application of the tool to more than 120 teachers from 36 Municipal Elementary Schools of the Municipal Education Department of Cariacica. The basis of the program will be divided into two methodologies: Life Projects, Entrepreneurship, and Citizenship Projects, connecting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN (United Nations), in an initiative articulated between the EDP Institute, DreamShaper, the Integrated Education Management and the Environmental Education Coordination.
