EDP LIVE BANDS selects semifinalists in its 5th edition Bands
The 51 bands from 13 Brazilian states and the Distrito Federal continue to compete for the dream of recording an album and playing in one of the biggest festivals in Europe
The 5th edition of EDP Live Bands, a band contest created by EDP to promote music and national talent, already has its semifinalists. There are 51 bands from 13 Brazilian states and the Federal District, who continue with their dream to launch a CD and play at NOS Alive in Portugal, one of the biggest festivals in Europe. The choice of one of the contest finalists is up to the public. From May 29 to June 7, fans can enter the contest website (edplivebands.edp.com) and vote for their favorite band, the contest jury will select the other bands.
The semifinalists were chosen from 1051 bands registered by the jury, taking into account criteria such as originality and technical and musical quality, and by popular vote on the contest website. On the interactive platform, there is an interface for Facebook, audios and videos of the bands that continue in the dispute. The musicians will represent Alagoas, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Paraná, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo in this next phase of the competition. The announcement of the finalist bands takes place on June 9th.
Meet the semi-finalists
As in previous editions, EDP Live Bands Brasil has the support of the producer Everything is New, Revista Lounge and Fundação Luso Brasileira.
Since its first edition, in 2014, EDP Live Bands has received more than 9,300 applications and awarded 14 bands (12 First Prizes and 2 Honorable Mentions) in the three countries where it is present.
