Friday 20, March 2020

Measure aims to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. EDP Online can be accessed via the internet www.edponline.com.br or via smartphone application

EDP, an electricity distributor in Guarulhos, Alto Tietê, Vale do Paraíba and the North Coast of São Paulo, continuously monitors the evolution of the Coronavirus scenario and the health recommendations to maintain the safety of employees and the population. Therefore, starting next Monday (23), face-to-face service at physical agencies will be interrupted and services and requests must be made over the internet through the website www.edponline.com.br, EDP Online smartphone application or through Customer Service (SAC) on 0800 721 0123. This measure seeks to avoid the crowding of people in these environments, in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

It is also important to highlight that, as of the same date (23), 100% of services can be performed by EDP Online, even those that require delivery of documents, such as requests for energy connection or change of ownership, through the website www.edponline.com.br.

For those who do not have access to the internet, EDP maintains a Customer Service (SAC), 0800 721 0123, available 24 hours a day, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, for which calls are free. To record a power outage, it is also possible to send an SMS to 28037 with the message “Falta de Luz”.

"On a daily basis, EDP assesses the evolution scenario of Coronavirus from an internal committee formed by representatives from different areas of the company and adopts measures aimed at the safety and health of employees and the population, seeking the least possible impact on the services provided by the Company" reinforces Roberto Miranda, EDP's executive relationship manager.

Other virtual tools that help the customer not to leave home are digital payment channels, such as automatic debit and internet banking. The registration of the energy bill in automatic debit can be done at any time by EDP Online or directly by the banking institution.

Internal Crisis Committe Against Coronavirus

Even before the confirmation of the first case of Coronavirus in the country, EDP, created a crisis management committee to take action against the spread of the virus and alert its employees to care for the disease. The crisis management committee is meeting daily, including weekends, when necessary.

Since mid-February, measures to reinforce hygiene have been implemented by the Company. The cleaning of items such as elevator buttons, door handles and stair railings, in addition to operational vehicles, received an increase. Currently, administrative offices are on a home office basis for an indefinite period.

In order to guarantee the quality and continuity of the energy supply and to ensure the safety of employees who work directly in this activity, a specific strategic plan was created. As a priority measure, electricians working in the field have been decentralized at various operational bases throughout the concession area and carry out different schedules, in addition to meetings and guidance by remote channels. The Integrated Operation Center (COI) was separated into three different physical spaces and employees who have already worked in EDP's operation and are currently in other areas of the company are receiving training to reinforce the team of operators, if necessary.
