International standard recognizes good corporate corruption prevention and anti-corruption practices

Last week, EDP, company that operates throughout the chain of the Brazilian electric sector, had its recognized good governance practices to get the Recommendation Letter of ISO 37001. The certification of the Anti-Bribery Management System further reinforces the Company's culture of integrity and transparency.

The process lasted about six months, divided between the Assessment, with diagnosis of compliance program and diagnosis of compliance; internal audit, with the documentary phase, with requirements and systems analysis; and, finally, the external audit. In addition, 37 people were interviewed in different areas of the company. The certification is valid for three years, with annual maintenance.

‘’Achieving ISO is the result of company-wide efforts to recognize the work done to prevent and combat corruption. We have rules and processes, but, above all, we have a culture and support from our management with the objective of strengthening the Company's full and transparent positioning”, says João Paulo Mateus, EDP's Compliance Officer.
