EDP wins Transparency Trophy for the sixth time in a row

EDP, a company that operates in all segments of the Brazilian electricity sector, won, for the sixth time, the 2019Transparency Trophy, being recognized for the quality of its financial statements. The award, granted by ANEFAC (National Association of Finance, Administration and Accounting Executives), distinguishes organizations with the best accounting practices.



Under the central theme “Brazil wants Transparency”, the EDP Group was selected in the category of companies with “net revenues over R$ 5 billion” and elected from more than two thousand enrolled by a judging committee made up of masters PhD courses in Accounting area from USP (Universidade de São Paulo), with the technical evaluation of the Foundation Institute for Accounting, Actuarial and Financial Research (FIPECAFI) and support from Serasa Experian.



At the evaluation criteria include: the quality and degree of the information contained in the statements and explanatory notes, the transparency of the information provided, the quality and consistency of the management report and adherence to accounting principles in the year prior to the award.
