The winner of the fourth edition of the EDP Live Bands Brazil music contest, ETC, a band from the state of Minas Gerais, performed on the last two days of the NOS Alive ’19 festival in Portugal, one of the greatest music festivals in Europe. The band performed on the same day as other international features, such as Vampire Weekend and Greta Van Fleet.
At EDP Live Bands, ETC came in first place, coming up ahead of 1.700 bands from all over the country competing for the award. They got over 180 thousand votes online and over two million views in the competition’s website.
For Paulo Campos Costa, EDP’s global communication director, “the performance of ETC in Europe crowns the 2019 edition of EDP Live Bands Brazil, highlighted by the record set in sheer number of bands participating and by the powerful vibe following this edition”. EDP Live Bands Brazil has gained momentum every following year, bringing incentive and paying homage to Brazilian music and gaining notoriety in the international scene.
EDP Live Bands Brazil is the result of a partnership between EDP, company present in all sectors of the Brazilian electric market, Everything is New and Sony Music, with institutional support from Lounge Magazine. A global hit, the competition is carried out in Portugal every year since 2014, coming up on its sixth edition. In Brazil, the competition started in 2016, and in Spain is currently on the second edition.
