EDP ranked best in Energy sector by Época 360° yearbook

EDP Brazil, a company that operates across the Brazilian electricity industry’s value chain, was ranked the best energy company in the Época 360° yearbook, produced by Época Magazine.



At the yearbook selected winning companies in several different categories based on six criteria - financial performance, corporate governance, innovation, people, sustainability and forward-looking vision. After an assessment, the companies were divided and ranked in 27 different economic sectors using a point-based system, with a winner in each sector.



 “The fact EDP won the award as the best company in the Brazilian Energy sector acknowledges our corporate model, which blends strict governance, a focus on people, environmentally responsible management and a push for constant innovation. We dedicate this award to all our employees”, said Miguel Setas, president of EDP.  



At the publication followed last year’s model and received technical support from the Dom Cabral Foundation, which formulated the methodology, performed field research and concluded the study.



None the most innovative IT departments





In addition to its inclusion in the yearbook, EDP was also highlighted as part of the 100 Most Innovative Companies in IT Use Award, organized by IT Midia in partnership with PwC. This award assesses IT projects that have had an impact on Brazilian businesses. EDP was recognized for its robotics initiatives, linked with improvements to its digitalization process, achieving second place in the Utilities category and 13th place overall among 146 projects. The Company was ranked top in the Energy industry.
