EDP acknowledged as number 1 in the industry on Dow Jones Sustainability Index

At the EDP Group, of which EDP Brasil is part, was a highlight among the global companies with the best sustainability practices, reaching 90 points in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index at Worldwide and European levels. In addition to being its best score in the index, which it has been integrating for 12 years, the Company strengthened its position in the ranking: it is the leader of the integrated utilities sector, besides being in the top 2 of utilities in general (utilities services).



At the index, which assesses the world leading sustainability companies, highlighted EDP performance in three dimensions: environmental, economic and social. Among the criteria analyzed, there are nine in which EDP was highlighted for reaching the maximum score (100 points): water risk management, climate change, environmental reporting, social reporting, human rights, community development, stakeholder engagement, responsible political involvement and materiality analysis.

At the Dow Jones Sustainability Index was born in 1999 as the first benchmark for the financial performance of leading sustainability companies globally. Companies in the indexes are rated as the most capable of creating long-term value to the shareholders through a risk management.
