EDP, an electrical energy distributor from Guarulhos, is now accepting registration for the Electrician School, a course for grid electricians that will provide qualifications for people who want to work in the electricity distribution area. At the project is a partnership between EDP and the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI). The free, three and a half month course includes 556 class hours and will train people to become distribution grid electricians. The students are entitled to an allowance during the course and after the course they will receive a SENAI certificate and will be registered in EDP’s talent pool, which means they can apply for future selection processes for permanent positions. 

At the course includes theoretical and practical classes on the principles and laws that govern operation of electrical systems. Participants will learn the procedures and skills required to plan, operate, assess and inspect networks and how to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in line with technical and safety standards.

Registration

Places are available for men and women; the Electrician School course will be held at the Senai “Celso Charuri” head office, at Jardim Presidente Dutra, Guarulhos, between June and October. There are 16 places available on the course. Candidate requirements:

- Education: Candidates must have completed Secondary school;

- They must reside in the Guarulhos or Northern São Paulo;

- Be at least 18 years of age;

- Be available for a full-time course, from 8 am to 5 pm;

- A driver’s license is preferred;

- Experience in the electricity industry and/or a basic electricians course is preferred;

EDP will also provide students with an allowance, learning material, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), lunch and a SENAI certificate.
